Hall of Fame

Established in 2011, the SUNY Canton Hall of Fame celebrates the past, present and future of the College through the recognition of those who have made significant contributions in their work, in their communities, and in the storied history of SUNY Canton.

The nominated candidate must have a reputation for excellence and dedication, bringing credit and honor upon the College through their career and scholastic achievements, campus and community involvement, their character, Those featured in the Hall of Fame include founders, faculty and staff members, alumni, and community members.

2020 Distinguished Alumni

Edward N. Coombs '86

The 2020 Distinguished Alumni is Edward N. Coombs '86. A longtime college volunteer, Ed is a former Marine Corps and Army Reserves Member who, in his twelfth year of service to the Canton College Foundation Board of Directors, is currently serving as vice chair.

Ed is a New York State-certified public accountant and managing member of Edward N. Coombs LLc, which provides advisory services to a variety of businesses and non-profits.His financial expertise has been invaluable to the Canton College Foundation throughout the past decade.

Ed received an associate degree in Business Administration and a second degree in Accounting from SUNY Canton, then went to complete his bachelor's degree in Accounting from SUNY Oswego. He's an active members of Delta Kappa Sigma fraternity, holding several leadership positions and maintaining strong ties with the organization.

SUNY Canton is grateful to Ed for his passion and dedication to SUNY Canton and its students.
