2022 Distinguished Alumni Award
Jeffrey L. Robbins, P.E. '79

Jeff was born and raised in Lewis County, in the small hamlet of Demark. He is the third of six children. Jeff graduated from Lowville Academy and Central Schools in 1977 and went on to Canton ATC, studying Electrical Engineering Technology. After graduating in 1979, he started working at Calocerinos & Spina Consulting Engineers in Syracuse and though the name has changed several times, now C&S Engineers, he is still with the same company. He worked his way up through the company and in 1996, obtained his Professional Engineers license. Jeff still enjoys his work on managing large electrical infrastructure projects and mentoring younger staff is one of the more satisfying aspects of his job.

Since graduating, Jeff has been a regular attendee at career fairs and has recruited and helped launch successful careers for countless SUNY Canton alumni. His support of the College extends into academics where he has served since 1991 on the Electrical Engineering Technology Advisory Board, making him the longest tenured member of the EET Advisory board.

In 1985, he met Michele through work, and they married in 1986. Jeff and Michele have three outstanding children, Gregory, Marissa, and Stephen, along with two beautiful grandchildren, Mila and Camden. And don’t forget their pup, Stella.
